Does fat turn into muscle?
Are you having a good January so far? Allergies aside, my month has been productive. I'm also watching a lot more YouTube this year. But I can't help but cringe at some of the videos YouTube suggests.
I keep seeing videos of 'fitness coaches' and "influencers" giving horrible advice. So here is something I have to get off my chest. Maybe it will help you in your personal journey or maybe it will help someone you know.
No matter what the media or 'influencers' claim, fat does not turn into muscle.
Fat may not turn into muscle, but muscle helps burn fat. This is what 5 pounds of fat look like compared to roughly 10-13 pounds of lean body muscle.
✔️Lifting weights increases your muscle mass.
✔️Muscle helps burn fat.
✔️Burning fat helps you lose weight.
See where I am going with this?
How does muscle burn fat to lose weight?
If you are trying to lose weight and you don't do resistance training, now is the time to start. I promise you'll see and FEEL the differences in a few sessions.
You can use anything to add weight to your body for a resistance workout. You can use any or all of the following:
-Anything around the home that adds a pound or more of weight.
When you destroy your muscle during your resistance training, the muscle uses fat as energy while it is repairing. Your muscle repairs when you are resting.

It's a Myth: ❌Fat does not turn into muscle❌
It's important to note that it's easy to get confused when you hear so many different things about fitness online. Don't let so-called coaches or influencers confuse. Don't let the media confuse you. When it comes to fitness, look for anything that is science-based.
If you want clarification on anything you see or read out there, ask me. That's what I am here for! Plus who knows, your questions may help inspire a future blog post that will end up helping others. 🙂
