I had tried EVERYTHING…I thought Rafael was just a personal trainer, so I didn’t have hugely high expectations that he’d be able to “fix” me but boy was I wrong.
I had tried EVERYTHING…expensive pro athlete style physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, energy work, osteopathy, and finally a steroid injection into my SI joint. Even that only took away about 10% of my pain.
I thought Rafael was just a personal trainer, so I didn’t have hugely high expectations that he’d be able to “fix” me but boy was I wrong. Rafael is not just a personal trainer, he is an expert in corrective exercise - if you tell him where it hurts, he’ll work on the parts of your body that relate to that area. It was painful for a few weeks, but then…My pain started to wear off….
Long story short, I continued to see Rafael all through the rest of my pregnancy (up until the week I gave birth, weighing 202 lbs!!!!). I started back up with him 8 weeks postpartum, as soon as my doctor cleared me for regular activity, and have been seeing him ever since.
I feel stronger than I ever have, and in all the right ways, using proper form, building strength from the inside out with core work built into every exercise.
I’m sad not to have his gym just 6 minutes from my house (we’ve been so spoiled!) but I’m so excited his business has grown so much that he’s moving to a bigger space! It’s been absolutely worth the investment.
I've tried working out on my own, eating healthy on my own, etc. But the weight fluctuates, the motivation fluctuates. I didn't simply want to diet and have a quick-fix weight loss, I wanted to change my lifestyle.
Rafael has helped me with that immeasurably.
During each session, he's patient in teaching me correct methodology for the various exercises he puts me through. He motivates, but not in a mean way at all. He also tells me exactly what we're working on and why so I can better understand how it helps and why it's important, and teaches me exercises I can do on my own, even without any fancy workout equipment at home.
Most importantly, he has given me nutrition plans that have helped me eat right and aid the workouts, as well as cardio plans that I can do on my own outside of my two weekly sessions with him.
I've been working out with Rafael for about two months and my BMI has dropped about 5% and I'm not done yet. It's great because I don't have to feel bad or backtrack significantly if I have a fun weekend where I want to eat some pizza or some other junk. As long as I keep on track, I know I'm making progress.
I've lost fat, gained muscle, and created a more healthy lifestyle that I know I'll be able to more reasonably maintain if and when I start going off on my own.
