About the program
The Stretches & MTP Release program was designed for clients who want to focus on getting relief first. Instead of using entire personal training sessions on the stretching and SMR part, you now have the option to add-on this service.
The program is open to anyone in the Austin, TX area who wants to learn Self-Myofascial release or who needs help stretching.
How Stretches & Myofascial Trigger Point (MTP) Release Works
In the first session, we will go over your problem areas. Depending on what issues you are experiencing you may need one or more of the following:
- Static stretches
- Active stretches
- Foam rolling
- Trigger pressure release
- Dynamic stretches
- Learning Self-Myofascial release using
- Lacrosse balls
- Foam Rollers
Keep in mind this program is not a massage, chiropractic, or therapy in any way.

I had tried EVERYTHING…I thought Rafael was just a personal trainer, so I didn’t have hugely high expectations that he’d be able to “fix” me but boy was I wrong.
I had tried EVERYTHING…expensive pro athlete style physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, energy work, osteopathy, and finally a steroid injection into my SI joint. Even that only took away about 10% of my pain.
I thought Rafael was just a personal trainer, so I didn’t have hugely high expectations that he’d be able to “fix” me but boy was I wrong. Rafael is not just a personal trainer, he is an expert in corrective exercise - if you tell him where it hurts, he’ll work on the parts of your body that relate to that area. It was painful for a few weeks, but then…My pain started to wear off….
Long story short, I continued to see Rafael all through the rest of my pregnancy (up until the week I gave birth, weighing 202 lbs!!!!). I started back up with him 8 weeks postpartum, as soon as my doctor cleared me for regular activity, and have been seeing him ever since.
I feel stronger than I ever have, and in all the right ways, using proper form, building strength from the inside out with core work built into every exercise.
I’m sad not to have his gym just 6 minutes from my house (we’ve been so spoiled!) but I’m so excited his business has grown so much that he’s moving to a bigger space! We cannot guarantee results on the first session. You will feel the difference and some relief from the first session, however, to avoid future pain, you must follow up with strengthening exercises. You can do these either on your own or by signing up for one of our training packages.

Clients can schedule appointments Tuesdays and Thursdays for a 30-minute Stretches & MTP Release session. Each session is $45 (for a limited time) and due at the beginning of the session.
Prior to the session, we ask that you complete these forms. If you don't have access to a printer, that's ok! We will have forms in the studio for you to fill out. In some cases, we will require a doctor's release when needed. Please review this form and let us know if we will need a doctor's release first.
Due to the nature of the session, we do ask every client to wear a face-covering for protection. We have hand sanitizers readily available.
Every client will have their temperature checked prior to coming into the studio.
If you've been exposed to someone who may be sick, or if you are experiencing any symptoms, please let us know so we can reschedule.

Where does the pain come from
When your muscles are overactive and tight, you will feel pain or pressure in that area. Stretches and myofascial release allows your muscles to relax and lengthen. This is going to help your pain diminish and in some cases completely go away.
After stretching and MTP release, we recommend you follow a Corrective Exercise Program to strengthen your muscles. Strengthening your muscles balances you and prevents future pain.
Traditionally, stretching helps with flexibility. Stretching lengthens your muscles with the static stretching technique.
Stretching increases your range of motion, reduces stiffness, and improves posture.
Myofascial Trigger Point
MTPs happen when there are postural and movement dysfunctions throughout your body. Releasing MTPs helps loosen the tight muscles so that your posture is balanced again. This prevents your body from overcompensating and creating new pain points.
This method helps reduce muscular tension, relieve muscle soreness, and improves circulation.
