6 Meal Prep Time & Money Saving Tips:

Keep it simple.

Don’t expect to become a meal prep pro overnight. Pick ONE meal that gives you the most stress – like lunch – and start making those meals ahead of time. Once you get into a routine with lunch, you can branch out into other meals.

Double up on your meals.

I’ve mentioned this one before but that’s because it’s so easy. Just make extra when you cook dinner! It can easily turn into tomorrow’s lunch or dinner.

Have a game plan.

If you are planning to cook a few different dishes at the same time, create a plan. Read all of the recipes through, and do as much chopping/rinsing/pre-prep ahead of time as possible. This will help keep you organized. It will also allow you to clean up as you go (a huge time-saver). AND chances are… you’ll actually enjoy making your meal!

Cook up bigger batches of protein-rich foods.

This saves time and money. Think about it: it takes just as long to cook up 2 lbs worth of turkey burgers as it does 1 lb, and buying in bulk usually results in a lower per-pound/gram cost!

Use your rice cooker and/or slow cooker.

Both are inexpensive “set it and forget it” cookers that will save time and effort – and they both make delicious food!

Make it fun.

Listen to your favorite music or podcast, or download an audiobook to keep you company while you get busy in the kitchen.

Pre-cut vegetables and fruits.

Cut up vegetables and fruits that you can use in multiple meals, so you can easily grab them when you need them.

These tips should help make your next meal prep session a breeze. Remember to take into account your personal preferences and dietary needs. Meal prepping is a great way to make sure you have healthy food readily available, but it's also important to enjoy your meals and not feel restricted.

Tuna Avocado Wrap

Tuna Avocado Wrap Recipe

🌯I’ve got a FAST & easy lunch recipe that you don’t even need a fridge to keep the food cool!  It contains just 3 ingredients: a pouch of tuna, some avocado, and a whole-grain wrap. You obviously could add more ingredients if you have them: sliced tomatoes, butter lettuce leaves, or anything else that strikes your fancy.

👌But it’s tasty just the way it is and the avocado adds a great creamy texture.

Tuna-Avocado Wrap

(serves 1)

• 1 2.6 oz (74 g) pouch of wild-caught tuna

• ½ an avocado, pitted

• 1 whole-grain wrap

Drain the tuna and spread it over the wrap. Mash the avocado and spoon it over the tuna, and wrap it up. Voila! It’s time to eat.
