Pro Tips: What You'll Need To Get Started On Your Weight Loss Goal

It can be overwhelming to start a weight loss journey.  What to do, what to eat, when to eat, who to listen to? So many questions!  Instead of looking for fast and easy weight loss tips, pay attention to science-back solid advice that'll set you up on a healthy track for the rest of your life.  When you see something that sounds quick and easy or too good to be true, the rule of thumb is to walk away.  We tell our clients to always do a little extra research in reputable sources to back up any weight loss tips they find online.  We've done the research for you and have rounded up these few tips.  These 5 weight loss tips for beginners are a great place to start.

1) Buy A Scale

No, I'm not talking about a bathroom scale. I'm talking about a kitchen scale. You need one to weigh out proper portions of food. You can easily overeat if you are not measuring your portions.

2) Find Support

Studies show that having a buddy makes it a lot easier to meet your targets and set up healthy new habits. You can confide in others and share specific goals that will keep you accountable. Join our Facebook Support Group!

3) Get A Notepad

Write down the foods you're eating, and even the exercises you're doing if that helps. Keeping track of what you eat and when you eat will help you a lot. 4) Go Through Your Cabinets

If you're going to be focusing on eating healthier then you don't want to have temptation all around you in your home. Get rid of food that will lead you astray. Then shop for plenty of healthy snacks, like fruit, that you can have on hand whenever you're feeling peckish.

5) Choose An Exercise Program

If exercise isn't your thing, you'll have to make a small sacrifice for long-lasting results. Sometimes in life we must do things we won't enjoy.  With that in mind, only do exercises that feel best for you and that you'll enjoy. This could mean starting with a simple cardio program, walking daily, or lifting weights a few days a week. Whatever you do, make sure you put it into a solid plan!
